PhillyMatch is a social and dating website catering only to Philadelphia and surroundings. It was founded by a professional psychometrician with over 15 years of experience assessing abilities and personalities for dozens of organizations, including NASA, psychiatry departments around the world, and two branches of the US military, among others. One of PhillyMatch’s key features is its psychometric matching algorithm, based on 172 questions about users’ attitudes, preferences, and personality. Specific focus on the Philadelphia area allows moderators to easily detect fake profiles, and unlike most dating apps and websites, PhillyMatch doesn’t charge for things like “gifts”, profile “boosts”, or other add-ons that elicit further payment from users. It has one simple goal, which is to help people find compatible mates (and sometimes friends) to form long-lasting connections.
I started PhillyMatch.org in September 2024 to give Philadelphians a free dating site option that comes with the the added benefit of a professionally-designed psychometric matching algorithm. As of November 2025, there are over 1,000 members in the Philadelphia area. The business entity is Philadelphia Psychometric Matching LLC, and my primary contact there is tyler@phillymatch.org.
